Under the direction of the Chief Physician Assistant or Director, the Supervisor Physician Assistant is responsible for supervising the PA’s on the Orthopedic and Urology Service lines. Responsibilities include: providing work direction, assignments and scheduling for staff, preparing performance evaluations and addressing personnel concerns to include review and recommendation of disciplinary actions. This position will also be to work clinically on the Orthopedic Trauma Service. This is a mostly inpatient service with peri-operative responsibilities in addition to diagnosing and treating adult and pediatric trauma patients who come in through the Emergency Department. This position has minimal OR time. Our closely knit team is composed of not only PAs but orthopedic attendings, fellows, and residents

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of previous experience as Physician Assistant
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) or major in Certified Physician Assistant
  • Licensure required as a Physician's Assistant by the State of New York R
  • Certification from the National Commission of Physician Assistants, Inc. (NCCPA)
  • DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) registration number, if applicable in assigned area
  • Basic Life Support Certification for all Physician Assistants who provide direct patient care
