About The Position

The Supervisor of Pharmacy Technicians at Option Care Health is responsible for overseeing pharmacy technician operations in the IV room, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and leading a team of pharmacy technicians. This role focuses on operational leadership, staff management, and the preparation and processing of prescriptions and equipment, contributing to the overall quality of infusion care provided to patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of pharmacy technician experience, or 1 year of lead/supervisory experience.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• Certified Compounding Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) required within 12 months of hire.
• Must be licensed and/or registered as required by state regulations.
• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to perform advanced level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication skills.
• Ability to delegate responsibilities appropriately.
• High level of self-motivation and ability to work independently under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• CPhT Advanced Certification
• Previous home health experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and accurate pharmacy technician operations.
• Develop operational goals and track progress towards those goals.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and state regulations.
• Develop new policies and procedures for pharmacy operations.
• Identify staffing needs to meet patient requirements.
• Review and approve Pharmacy Technician schedules.
• Interview and select new pharmacy technicians.
• Evaluate technicians for career path promotions.
• Ensure adequate training for pharmacy staff.
• Administer performance-related issues as necessary.
• Prepare aseptic IV admixtures, including chemotherapy preparations.
• Maintain quality control standards in the clean room and document related activities.
