About The Position

Make a difference Responsible for managing the technical support of the medication distribution system and processes within a facility. To this end, the individual will have a leadership role in planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring facility activities. Your unique qualifications High School Diploma or GED (required) 2 year Associate’s and/or 4 year Bachelor’s degree (preferred) Certifications/Licensures\: Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) (required) Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in hospital pharmacy (required) Your skills Manages the technical support of the medication distribution system and processes. Supervises day to day pharmacy operations within the facility. Responsible for ADC distribution system where facilities do not have a dedicated ADC coordinator on staff. Responsible for communication of information to the pharmacy staff. Assures appropriate staffing and coverage for staffing vacancies. Coordinates training and competency needs for the development of staff. Participates as resource for education of inter and intradepartmental staff. Provides an interface from patient care areas to medication distribution process. Maintain a positive and productive working relationship with other members of the department. Represents pharmacy department on various hospital committees. Leads in evaluation, development and implementation of system improvement. Maintains skills necessary to perform technician processes as defined at each site (IV, Chemo, TPN, unit dose distribution, packaging, ADC oversight). Manages distribution systems technologies and processes. Direct responsibilities for facility distribution systems QA/QI monitoring (includes outdate checks, unit inspection monitoring, temperature monitoring and crash cart monitoring). Responsible for orienting and training new pharmacy technicians. Maintains the team’s focus on timely and accurate distribution of medications. Manages manually distributed medications in a seamless manner with ADC medications. Other activities as directed by the Pharmacy Director }

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
