About The Position

The Supervisor Patient Transport oversees the day to day operations, duties and assignments of the Patient Transporter and Patient Transport Dispatcher. Responsible for patient transport customer service and equipment management. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to accomplish responsibilities. Creativity is expected to perform job. Leads and directs the work of others.

Requirements

  • 1 year customer service and 2 years supervisor experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer, and math skills.
  • Excellent communications, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to handle conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing - Assists in the effective hiring and training process for department staff.
  • Staffing - Assigns and monitors staff work and work schedules according to department policy.
  • Record Keeping - Maintains appropriate data on employee attendance for payroll/ATM.
  • Record Keeping - Maintains appropriate data on employee performance for counseling and performance review.
  • Leadership - Address employee behavioral issues timely and effectively.
  • Leadership - Demonstrates ability to coach and mentor staff.
  • Supplies, equipment and uniforms are ordered in accordance to established PAR levels.
  • Costs are controlled by constantly reviewing purchases and justify any overage as needed.
  • All departmental equipment and repairs are efficiently managed at all times.
  • 30 and 60 day evaluations on all new employees are completed withing specified timeframes as evidenced by reports that don't show any delinquent evaluations.
  • Nursing units and diagnostic departments are rounded on ensuring that their transport and courtesy needs are being met at all times.
  • Required reports are developed and accurate records accurately maintained for use in evaluating departmental performance.
  • Identifies ways of improving current services and consults with director on employee and operational issues and problems.
  • Actively participates in continuous quality improvement programs in order to foster the provision of high-quality health care services by the department and ensures that all services are provided with compassion, understanding, and respect for others.
  • Other duties as assigned are completed.
  • Actively participates on committees, projects and performance improvement projects as needed.
