About The Position

The Supervisor of Patient Access is responsible for overseeing daily registration functions within the Patient Access department, ensuring appropriate staffing and promoting a positive patient experience. This role involves managing registration processes, resolving departmental and patient issues, and monitoring performance metrics to achieve operational goals. The Supervisor also plays a key role in staff management, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in healthcare or business administration required, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of patient registration experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting required.
  • Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office skills, familiar with healthcare EHR applications (e.g., EPIC, Cerner).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of patient registration and third-party insurance coverage.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong quality assurance and critical thinking skills.

  • Bachelor's Degree and HFMA Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor new employee onboarding and training.
  • Provide constructive communication to service delivery areas.
  • Appraise staff performance and resolve issues.
  • Manage and track staff time and attendance for compliance.
  • Complete staff quality assurance reviews and annual performance evaluations.
