The Patient Access Operations Supervisor oversees all daily departmental operations by proactively addressing employee, patient, and organizational needs in a timely and consistent manner. This role involves building positive relationships within Baptist Health South Florida and acting as a cross-functional leader who manages patient flow across multiple service lines, departments, offices, and sites. The supervisor ensures effective staff management and coordinates and prioritizes work assignments while practicing the BHSF philosophy of service excellence, providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

  • Oversee daily departmental operations and address employee, patient, and organizational needs.
  • Build positive relationships within Baptist Health South Florida.
  • Manage patient flow across multiple service lines, departments, offices, and sites.
  • Ensure effective staff management and coordination of work assignments.
  • Practice the BHSF philosophy of service excellence in providing service to patients and community members.
  • Associate's Degree in Healthcare preferred with a minimum of 3 years in a Supervisory and/or Lead capacity, preferably in Patient Access.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance benefits, collections, authorizations/pre-certifications.
  • In lieu of an Associate's Degree, a minimum of 4 years' experience in Patient Access or healthcare setting.
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal & written), and customer service skills required.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to understand and implement performance improvement processes.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced stressful environment.
  • Proficient in using all Patient Access applications and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of medical necessity compliance guidelines, ICD-10 and CPT code structure.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole.
