The position of Supervisor, Patient Access is located in Naperville and is a full-time role with hours from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The Supervisor will oversee staff performing registration functions, ensuring the registration process is efficient and that patients are delivered to their areas of service without delay. The role includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, providing day-to-day supervision and training of staff, and maintaining database integrity. The Supervisor will also monitor patient volume, audit work queues, and act as a liaison between various departments to ensure effective communication and compliance with policies.

  • Supervises staff at all points of service performing registration functions.
  • Oversees the registration process and ensures delivery of patient to area of service without delay of treatment.
  • Assists in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Provides day-to-day supervision and training of staff.
  • Creates and keeps current staffing schedule, policies, and training manuals.
  • Supervises staff to maintain database integrity by entering correct patient and financial information.
  • Monitors patient volume and delegates tasks accordingly.
  • Monitors and audits Registration work queues as well as reports, trends, and issues.
  • Monitors and provides statistical reports as directed by management.
  • Acts as a liaison between physician offices, patients, and multiple revenue cycle and clinical department staff.
  • Researches accounts for other areas within the system to determine reasoning for denials and remedy.
  • Acts as second level contact for escalation requests and monitors staff performance.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections, insurance benefit verification, and/or customer service experience.
  • Minimum of one year of leadership experience.
  • Expert-level knowledge of third party payer requirements and online benefit verification.
  • Expert-level knowledge of health insurances and basic medical terminology.
  • Experience as a front-line user with Epic Resolute Hospital Billing, ADT / Grand Central, Prelude, or Cadence preferred.
