About The Position

Packaging Supervisors are directly responsible for performing essential packaging functions in a safety and productive environment. Packaging Supervisors are responsible for leading, training and supervising all personnel under this position. They are responsible for safe movement and packaging of all customers’ product. They are required to check and complete all required paperwork. They may also be required to maintain inventories, operate forklifts, performing light maintenance, and light railcar movement. Packaging Supervisors will need to communicate any issues to management and maintenance to maintain 100% up time on production. This job includes the following duties and any other as assigned by current manager: To ensure Total Customer Satisfaction Lead, train, and supervise all personnel under this position. Assist with the applicant interviewing process Schedule the work while in process, taking responsibility for quality and efficiency. Supervise the safe operation of the FFS Line, Including the head unit, palletizer and hooder. Ensure all safety rules and regulations are continually observed and followed. Responsible for continued safety inspections and awareness. Complete daily inspections of equipment and keep clean and in good running order Assist with railcar placement as needed Check and verify all paperwork including printer entry. Preform simple field maintenance to maintain machine up time. Maintain Quantix standards of housekeeping inside and outside of the warehouse. Communicate about any problems or concerns you may have with equipment or processes. Investigate any unsafe or unsanitary conditions and initiate corrective action immediately. Conduct performance reviews for subordinates and conduct communication sessions for hourly associates. Immediately acknowledge and/or accept responsibility for damage to product, equipment, etc… Responsible for any other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements

  • High School Education, but some college preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities with internal and external customers.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Understanding of an inventory system
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in an industrial area
  • Mechanical aptitude is needed to monitor work processes for safety / production & preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced team environment.
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to perform duties in an independent manner with minimal supervision.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Physically strong / healthy & capable walking / climbing / bending.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Give full support to the Quantix Responsible Care Program.
  • Know and comply with Quantix Responsible Care Programs contained in the RC Policies and Procedures Manual.
  • Know the hazards of any chemicals used in their area.
  • Know and comply with the SDS for these chemicals.
  • Support Quantix Responsible Care Mission Statement.
  • Ensure that Responsible Care concerns are given primary consideration in all activities.
  • Set an excellent example for other personnel through safe work practices.
  • Know and understand their individual Responsible Care respon bili ties.
  • Attend and participate in Department Responsible Care Meetings as instructed.
  • Attend and participate in “water-cooler or tailgate meetings” to discuss safety
  • Stop, correct, or report substandard conditions and unsafe acts.
  • Make Responsible Care suggestions to their immediate supervi sor.
  • Develop potential solutions for these suggestions then follow-up to ensure completion.
  • Know and maintain good housekeeping standards in their area.
  • Assist in the development of RC Policies and Procedures, Operating Procedures, and Safe Work Practices.
  • Know and comply with RC Policies and Procedures, Operating Procedures, and Safe Work Practices.
