About The Position

The Supervisor, Packaging/Labeling position at Thermo Fisher involves leading a team of 20-40 employees in a clinical pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging environment. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards while driving operational improvements and employee development. The supervisor will be responsible for daily scheduling, performance management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent education and experience in a related field.
  • 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a clinical packaging/manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in clinical packaging/manufacturing with increased responsibility is considered.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques such as line balancing, Takt Time, 5S, SMED, TPM.

Nice To Haves

  • 5-7 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in clinical or pharmaceutical packaging.
  • Experience leading teams of more than 10 employees.
  • Any certification related to manufacturing, management, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification (Green or Black Belt).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise 20-40 employees on multiple production lines in a clinical pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
  • Manage daily scheduling of packaging operations and provide work direction across production areas.
  • Communicate performance expectations and hold employees accountable through performance management processes.
  • Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for processes within the area.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement training programs for employee growth and development.
  • Investigate process deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are current and followed by technicians.
