About The Position

The position is within the Outpatient Rehabilitation Services department at Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL. The role involves supervising daily activities of the rehab services, coordinating staff and clinical affiliates, and managing treatment and activity schedules. The supervisor will assist in planning and establishing policies and procedures, as well as developing new programs. Training and monitoring the competency of both new and current personnel is a key responsibility, along with assisting in staff performance evaluations. The role also includes direct patient care, including evaluation and treatment as needed, and assisting the Director in the management of the department by taking on delegated assignments.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an approved school of physical therapy with a BA or BS degree OR
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Occupational Therapy OR
  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelors in speech therapy required.
  • MS Degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
  • Three years of experience as a practicing therapist.
  • Licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of state OR
  • Current state Occupational Therapy certification/license OR
  • Licensed by the current state in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises Rehab Services daily activities.
  • Coordinates and supervises staff and clinical affiliates, treatments, and activity schedule.
  • Assists in planning and establishing policies and procedures and development of new programs.
  • Trains and monitors competency of new and current personnel.
  • Assists in staff performance evaluations.
  • Provides direct patient care including evaluation and treatment as dictated by census with a negative variance.
  • Assists Director in management of department and assumes any delegated assignments.
