About The Position

The Supervisor, Operations (Repack Programs) at the Atlanta Community Food Bank is essential in overseeing the daily repacking operations of fresh produce and protein, ensuring that food items are safely and efficiently prepared for distribution to our community partners. This role focuses on supporting our mission by managing day-to-day workflow, supervising a dedicated team, and maintaining high standards of quality and food safety. The Supervisor ensures that operations run smoothly and that team members are trained, supported, and motivated to achieve their goals, reducing waste and maximizing the impact of our food distribution programs. This position reports to the Manager I, Operations.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing daily operations in food distribution, warehouse, or production settings.
Ability to optimize workflow and streamline processes for efficiency and productivity.
Knowledgeable in inventory management to maintain adequate stock and reduce waste.
Familiarity with quality control processes to ensure product safety and compliance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, managers, and other departments.
Ability to maintain open, transparent communication within the team and foster a positive work environment.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage shift schedules, and coordinate team activities efficiently.
Skilled in tracking operational metrics and reporting on daily progress, goals, and improvement areas.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily repack activities, streamlining workflow to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Manage the movement of goods from repack to storage, ensuring inventory levels are maintained and waste minimized.
Implement process improvements for a consistent flow of goods to meet demand.
Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product safety and compliance with standards.
Collaborate with Supply and Receiving teams to uphold food safety regulations.
Become HAACP certified by taking the training course and passing the examination.
Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, including HACCP guidelines, to maintain safe food handling.
Lead and help coordinate daily operations by managing and overseeing shift schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.
Monitor employee performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Train and onboard new team members, ensuring they are familiar with organizational systems, tools, and procedures.
Report daily shift progress and metrics to management, ensuring clear communication on goals, performance, and areas for improvement.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and open communication among staff.
(Warehouse only) Work alongside warehouse associates to support various operational activities, including receiving, storage, picking, and shipping.
