This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 8:00 am -5:00pm Central. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime, holidays or weekends. We offer 4 weeks of training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Operations/Production environment or 2+ years of team lead or supervisor/manager experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (data entry, sort / filter, and work within tables) and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work Monday -Friday, 08:00AM - 05:00PM CST

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in a remote team setting
  • 2+ years of healthcare experience
  • PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma certifications
  • Coding certification to include the following: CPC, CRC, RHIA, or RHIT

Responsibilities

  • Manages day-to-day and production operations for a team of 30-40 medical coders
  • Develops procedures to increase departmental accuracy and efficiency through prompt identification and resolution of routine and complex production issues
  • Assesses, evaluates and addresses daily workload and queues
  • Analyzes productivity of medical coders compares productivity to capacity plan. Identifies variances and implements proactive solutions to mitigate risk
  • Responsible for quality monitoring activities including identifying areas of improvement and plan the implementation of improvement areas
  • Follow guidelines for competencies for coders; identifies training and development opportunities for coders
  • Incorporate feedback from operational, financial and QA reports to improve performance
