About The Position

Supervisor of Facilities (reports to Director of Facilities) The Shames JCC on the Hudson is a non-sectarian community center providing meaningful experiences for individuals and families throughout their lives. We are a welcoming, inclusive gathering place that enriches the greater community through social, recreational, educational, social action, supportive service, wellness, and cultural programs and resources guided by Jewish values. The Shames JCC staff support a positive environment for members, visitors, and colleagues. They are responsible for providing outstanding customer service, facilitating a warm, friendly, responsive community experience throughout the entire JCC. The Shames JCC is open 7 days a week for a total of 110 hours and beyond for events.

Requirements

• Hours of work are weekends and late nights
• Prior supervisory experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a busy environment
• Experience in customer service and hospitality required
• The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Occasional work on ladders and moving items over fifty pounds utilizing a team lift.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree or two or more years of relevant experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Janitorial and maintenance experience preferred
• CDL B passenger endorsement school bus preferred
• Associates or Bachelor's degree or two or more years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up for events and programs that take place Saturday, Sunday, and later day shifts
• Supervises custodial and facilities hourly personnel (approx. 20 staff)
• Supervises special projects and department needs
• Supply management
• Supervises work orders to completion
• Supports event day staff as needed
• CDL B passenger endorsement school bus preferred
• Any other duties as they come up
