The Bureau of Human Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supervisor of Employee Leaves to oversee and administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, disability, paid time off (PTO), and other leave-related policies. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and provide guidance to employees and managers on leave-related matters.

  • Administer and oversee all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term/long-term disability, military leave, and personal leave.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as City policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leaves and benefit employees regarding leave policies, procedures, and eligibility.
  • Coordinate with HR, payroll, and leaves and benefits team to ensure accurate leave tracking and payroll processing.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of leave requests, approvals, and return-to-work documentation.
  • Provide training and support to managers and employees on leave-related matters.
  • Stay updated on changes to leave laws and recommend policy updates as needed.
  • Manage escalated cases and work with legal to resolve complex cases.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above, with all candidates required to possess one year of administrative or supervisory experience.
