Data Center Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the work unit, and the supervision of ongoing staff at our Data Center facilities. This critical role is often a working manager who assigns, prioritizes, monitors, and maintains workflow while coaching, leading, and motivating staff. Responsible for delivering services assigned to the work unit, this role shares information across the team, to management, and across work units to accomplish tasks with an eye on continuous improvement.  We are seeking a Data Center Operations Supervisor to function as a hands-on 'player-coach,' responsible for leading and developing the operations team. In this role, you will manage the daily workflow, set priorities, and mentor staff, including developing and implementing a team training program. This role makes key tactical decisions to support 24x7 operations, overseeing the reliable delivery and proper maintenance of all standard power and cooling services. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for operations, working to resolve tenant issues and maintain effective communication with vendors. In this position, you will be responsible for the data center's operational security, ensuring the team's adherence to all OIT, State, and Federal policies, while actively supporting the Data Center Operations Director on broader projects and initiatives. A wide salary range is posted for this position, and any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The salary analysis considers relevant experience, education, certifications, and state seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work. While all offers are compliant with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, there is no guarantee an offer will be at the top of the posted range based on the salary analysis.  This is a skills-based job announcement. The required minimum qualifications and/or education (if substituting for the proven experience, knowledge, and skills), are as follows: 

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position.
  • A minimum of one year of professional experience in Data Center operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry Certification in Data Center systems operation and/or management.
  • Previous lead level experience overseeing the work of technical professionals.
  • Experience managing/configuring Data Center Information Management (DCIM) and physical security access management control systems. 

Responsibilities

  • Executing the functional duties of the team(s) within the organization.
  • Managing projects and ensuring adequate resources are available.
  • Assisting with providing data for monthly and quarterly metric reports.
  • Continuously recommending and overseeing the implementation of regularly upgraded and enhanced tools and processes.
  • Managing facility access requests and ensuring customer compliance with facility disciplines. Create and maintain facility documentation and maintain phones, desktops, printers, and conference areas. 
  • Actively engage in improving leadership skills, attitudes, and knowledge, especially as related to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Attend training, development, and group training on topics of inclusive leadership.
