The Supervisor of Cardiovascular Services at St. David's Medical Center plays a crucial role in overseeing the clinical and financial outcomes of the department. This position is responsible for the direction, performance, and professional growth of the staff, acting as a representative of the Department Manager and Administration. The Supervisor is tasked with ensuring competent, cost-effective patient care while actively addressing process improvement and service line development. This role requires a commitment to superior guest relations and maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment. In this position, the Supervisor will manage departmental operations, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of paperwork for patient and employee incident reports, and medication error reports, which must be forwarded to the Director or designee within 24 hours of an incident. The Supervisor will also develop a departmental Process Improvement plan, analyze and report data on a monthly and quarterly basis, and promote staff involvement in the PI plan. Additionally, the Supervisor will assist the Director in budget development and track budgetary indicators regularly. The Supervisor will collaborate with staff and peers to resolve system problems and build new product lines, interpret hospital and personnel policies to various stakeholders, and assign additional duties to staff to promote optimal unit operations. Compliance with regulatory and accrediting agencies is essential, as is the maintenance of departmental coverage throughout the year. The Supervisor will also facilitate staff development, coordinate student assignments, conduct interviews for new hires, and ensure that staff maintain their required licenses and certifications. Regular departmental meetings will be conducted to share and receive information, and the Supervisor will monitor customer satisfaction, developing action plans as necessary to improve service delivery.
