We are seeking an experienced OD/ID Grinding Supervisor to lead a team of skilled grinding technicians in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on machining expertise with leadership and process improvement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both solving technical challenges and developing people. As the Supervisor of OD/ID Grinding, you will coordinate daily work, support technicians on the shop floor, ensure quality and delivery goals are met, and play a key role in improving operational performance. Requirements

  • 5+ years of OD/ID grinding experience
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving ability
  • Experience in a precision manufacturing or machining environment
  • Strong understanding of grinding processes and setups
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple jobs
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Standing at machines for up to 10 hours per day
  • Walking the shop floor regularly
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs or more
  • Occasional computer-based work for scheduling and coordination

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership or mentoring experience preferred
  • Technical school or machining apprenticeship program a plus

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of OD/ID Grinding Technicians
  • Assign daily job schedules based on technician skill level and job complexity
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support on the shop floor
  • Assist with machine setups and grinding operations when needed
  • Monitor job progress to ensure quality standards and delivery timelines are met
  • Review incoming work to optimize job scheduling and workflow efficiency
  • Perform in-process monitoring of work during setup and production runs
  • Coordinate with operations, production, safety, and quality teams
  • Identify and escalate quality or scope issues quickly
  • Interface with customers when technical clarification or issue resolution is required
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship and process control
  • Train, coach, and mentor grinding technicians
  • Lead employee development meetings
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and technician growth
  • Promote a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement
