Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering, continuous improvement/process improvement, manufacturing operations, or closely related industrial environment OR an Associate's degree and 7 or more years experience in an engineering, continuous improvement/process improvement, manufacturing operations, or closely related industrial environment
  • In absence of a degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years experience in an engineering, continuous improvement/process improvement, manufacturing operations, or closely related industrial environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • Understanding of CORE/Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity
  • Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation & coaching skills
  • SAP and Solumina proficiency

Responsibilities

  • The Supervisor, Modular Assembly will be responsible for providing leadership to one or more Business Unit Cells applying CORE (Customer Oriented, Results and Excellence), Lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity.
  • The Supervisor, Modular Assembly will provide leadership for all hourly employees within the organization-building of Module Assemblies supporting both Commercial (V2500, NGPF) and Military (F135) product families.
  • Own business objectives and deliverables for the line, and able to communicate and direct efforts across (3) shifts in order to align and deliver a quality product
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the multi-skilled group of team members engaged in the assembly of jet engine components
  • Apply CORE, Lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives sought at growing quality, efficiency, and delivery integrity while reducing costs to align to our customer cost curve
  • Provide leadership across several key business objectives such as execution to MRP and production ramp rates, manpower planning & quality leadership with first-pass yield & process certification, focus on ergonomic risk reduction & behavior-based safety, as well as employee engagement communication & partnership
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner and define and execute cross-training strategies to support program growth and attrition
  • Execute fair business decisions, conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives
