About The Position

The position involves ensuring the routine operation of the department by evaluating efficiencies, line speeds, and the placement and rotation of team members. The role requires effective collaboration with the USDA to resolve issues as they arise and coordination of product quality with the Quality Assurance (QA) team. Responsibilities include participating in pre-operative inspections conducted by QA, training and certifying new and existing staff on Production, USDA, HACCP, and OSHA guidelines, and working with interfacing departments to ensure adequate product, service, and information is provided. Additionally, the position involves addressing team member issues in collaboration with HR, troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting staff performance evaluations, monitoring and approving timecards in Kronos Timekeeper, and performing related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of protein manufacturing processes, preferably in the poultry industry.
  • Understanding of standard operating procedures, USDA guidelines, HACCP, SSOPs, and company policies.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge of machinery and processes used in the plant department.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to collect data and prepare production reports.
  • Ability to communicate with and manage large groups of team members.
  • Ability to respond quickly to volatile situations and take corrective actions.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Bilingual skills in English/Spanish/Creole are preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform related duties as required.
