About The Position

The purpose of a materials supervisor is to oversee the planning and coordination of a company’s inventory and purchasing departments. They are tasked with supervising staff, researching best prices, monitoring inventory levels, distributing supplies, and negotiating contracts. · Monitor and develop Meditech Expanse processes and maintain the accuracy of perpetual inventory in the EHR. · Supervises the materials stock techs in day-to-day functions/operations. Train staff, build morale, and encourage teamwork. · Supervises the materials job function of the operating room materials associate. Trains the operating room materials associate and assists with the maintenance of operating room stock. Assure the flow of supplies for the operating room in the materials associate’s absence. · Oversee daily functions of the department and assist the stock techs if needed. · Assist in the processing and creation of purchase orders. · Assure that all packing slips, requisitions, and receivers are filed daily. · Support in researching potential vendors and negotiating prices. · Working with stock techs to keep the main inventory accurate and supplied. · Conduct weekly cycle counts to assure computer accuracy of inventory. · Working with management to identify supply needs. · Recommending solutions to existing processes to reduce waste and increase quantity. · Recording and assessing all materials quality, movement, and expenditure. · Assist in managing the distribution of supplies in the organization. · Monitoring inventory levels and access to the material. · Assist in collaboration with management to plan forecasting models. · Preparing and filing detailed records on procurement activity, quantity, and vendors. · Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on new information within the organization and provides a means of staff communication. · Assist the manager in establishing policies and procedures of OCH and help adhere to legal compliance policies and other regulatory issues

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (May be allowed to sign a GED agreement to obtain within 6-months).
  • Working knowledge of services, supply ordering, management and equipment.
