The Supervisor - Manufacturing, Ops & Assembly GS1 Integration at Blue Origin is a leadership role focused on overseeing the integration and testing of the New Glenn Stage 1 Forward Module. This position is critical in ensuring safe and efficient operations within a dynamic team environment, directly impacting the future of space exploration. The supervisor will lead a team of technicians, coordinate with various engineering and quality personnel, and foster a culture of safety and collaboration while driving continuous improvement in processes and team performance.

  • Supervise personnel working GS1 Forward System Integration in day-to-day operations with emphasis on Safety.
  • Guide teammates and ensure that each person has everything vital to safely succeed.
  • Champion a positive inclusive work culture that promotes teamship and delivering results.
  • Conduct regular check-ins to ensure team member performance, fulfillment, and growth.
  • Author job descriptions, screen candidates, and conduct interviews. Make hiring recommendations.
  • Develop and implement process, efficiency, and continuous safety improvements.
  • Responsible for prioritizing and establishment of Work Center assignments, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees.
  • Maintain all shop programs including Safety, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Clean as you go programs.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience as a 'front line' leader leading a team of directly reporting individual contributors.
  • 5+ years working in an Aerospace development, production, or operations environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Experience in integrating systems; pneumatics, fluids, electrical etc.
  • Clear understanding of production versus development environments.
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • A strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with constantly evolving roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with digital literacy.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
  • Lean certification.
  • Microsoft excel proficiency, including the working knowledge of Formulas, Pivot Tables, and chart generation.
  • Experience in new product introduction.
  • Experience in a Rate Production environment.
  • Experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Aerospace/Launch vehicles.
  • Experience in assembly, integration, and handling of large products.
