Role Overview The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor will lead a group of Associate Manufacturing Engineers and ME (Mechanical Engineering) Technician athletes to support manufacturing, distribution, and prepress operations through design and implementation, technical assistance, project coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives. Working across production, distribution, and prepress areas, this role requires a balance of leadership, technical proficiency, project management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The Supervisor ME is responsible for the oversight and leadership of capital and non-capital project execution, developing and sustaining process standards, troubleshooting production challenges, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities within a high-mix, low-volume industrial printing and promotional product manufacturing environment. The Supervisor must take responsibility for the safety, quality and timely execution of assigned projects according to directions received from Leadership. Will be responsible for day-to-day oversight and support of assigned athletes to leverage each athlete to their maximum skillset, while meeting business needs. Will work collaboratively with Operations Leadership to accomplish complex projects, address athlete corrective and commendation actions, and effectively carry out priorities established by Planning and Site Leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in manufacturing, production engineering, or operations support role such as Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Systems Engineer, Continuous Improvement or Automation Engineer.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a Supervisory role with 5+ direct reports.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial equipment and systems.
  • Proficiency in project management, time studies, data analysis, and ROI modeling.
  • Competency in AutoCAD, Fusion360, and digital workflow software (e.g., SWITCH, Print Factory, Adobe CC).
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, and visual - across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and process improvement.
  • Ability to consistently enforce Lock-Out Tag-out (LOTO) and all other safety protocol
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs., team lift of 50 lbs.
  • Able to sit, stand and/or walk for prolonged periods.
  • Comfortable using ladders, lifts, and working at heights.
  • Capable of bending, crouching, climbing, gripping, and pulling as required.
  • Manufacturing environments.
  • Personal transportation with the ability to move between buildings on a day-to-day basis.
  • Required to wear Long Pants
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, heat, humidity, and chemicals.
  • May work both indoors and in non-climate-controlled environments.
  • May work around machinery with moving parts.
  • PPE usage required per job function (e.g., safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in print, prepress, or promotional product manufacturing preferred.
  • Familiarity with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motion control, and automation integration is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the selection, training, timekeeping, coaching and career development of Associate Manufacturing Engineer and ME Technician athletes.
  • With guidance from Human Resources (HR), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), and Site Leadership, assists in the investigation and follow up for all personnel issues, safety violations and/or accidents.
  • Responsible for effective and timely internal communication with Operations Supervisors, Site Leadership, Planning, and other departments to hit company goals as directed.
  • Leverage systems and technology to track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and make data-informed decisions together with stakeholders.
  • The Supervisor ME will oversee and delegate tasks to ME department athletes daily to accomplish:
  • Design, specify, cost-justify, and implement manufacturing equipment, workstations, and tools to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Conduct time studies, capacity assessments, and data analysis to develop production rates and efficiency standards.
  • Lead and support Capital and Non-Capital Projects with clear Return on Investment (ROI) and business case documentation.
  • Develop and maintain layouts, 3D models, and process documentation using AutoCAD, Fusion360, and other CAD software.
  • Author, implement, and sustain Process Map Visual (PMV) work instructions, process/procedure and troubleshooting documents, job aids, and training tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues related to process inefficiencies, quality defects, and production bottlenecks.
  • Support Production Management by assuring all equipment and processes are functional and efficient; makes or arranges for corrections, adjustments and repairs as required.
  • Teach and train production staff on how to operate and optimize equipment.
  • Train operators on equipment setup, maintenance routines, and troubleshooting.
  • Operate equipment during setup, testing, troubleshooting, and during high demand times.
  • Run a variety of tests including color profile, print quality, time study/throughput, material test/qualification, consumable testing, etc.
  • Support the integration of automation, digital workflow, and print systems (e.g., SWITCH, PrintFactory, Adobe Creative Cloud, RIP software).
  • Lead process improvement initiatives with a focus on lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support prototyping, material qualification, and new product introduction efforts.
  • Contribute to safety reviews, ergonomic evaluations, and compliance efforts.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide project updates, reports, and technical documentation.
  • This position has no direct reports but must have the ability to influence others across functional disciplines.
  • Identify hazardous conditions and practices and immediately respond to (if trained) and report any unsafe physical conditions or unsafe work practices to site leadership.
  • Model BOLD Leadership Principles, treat others with respect, and conduct themselves in a positive and inclusive manner daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
