About The Position

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor oversees the daily operations, repairs, and maintenance of all buildings and grounds, ensuring they are safe, functional, and compliant. This role also acts as a middle manager, leading teams of technicians and coordinating with external contractors.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (building maintenance or skilled trade).
• The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a bachelor’s degree in and 3 years’ experience in a related field; a master's degree and 1 year of experience; or a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience
• Ability to communicate clearly with senior management, staff members and contractors.
• Ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions such as snow and heat.
• Flexibility with schedule, including on-call duties for emergencies, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Train, schedule, and evaluate maintenance staff (technicians, janitorial, and groundkeepers).
• Strong troubleshooting skills to address, and ideally prevent, maintenance issues.
• Regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and grounds to identify issues and required actions, oversee repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems.
• Collaborate with external vendors and ensure completed work meets company standards.
• Track maintenance expenditures, manage inventory for tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Utilize the Facility Maintenance System (FMS) to track, prioritize, and close out work orders.
