About The Position

Overview Outbound Sedona is opening soon and is seeking a highly performing hands-on Maintenance Supervisor who thrives in an outdoor (mountain or high desert resort) environment. This is a working supervisor role—not a desk job—ideal for someone who leads by example, works alongside the team, and keeps the resort safe, functional, and adventure-ready. This position reports directly to the Director/Chief of Engineering. Responsibilities Perform daily hands-on maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and outdoor spaces Supervise and support maintenance staff while actively working in the field Respond to maintenance requests and guest service calls, including after-hours as needed Support pre-opening activities including punch lists, inspections, and system startups Maintain and troubleshoot plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and general building systems Execute preventive maintenance and conduct routine safety inspections Coordinate with contractors and vendors under direction of the DOE Support seasonal and weather-related needs typical of a Sedona mountain resort Qualifications 3–5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality or resort environments Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs Proven ability to supervise while remaining highly hands-on Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays Strong problem-solving skills and guest-first mindset Ability to work independently in an active outdoor environment Physical & Environmental Requirements: Stand, walk, or move around the property for extended periods as required to complete maintenance inspections and repairs. Frequently bend, kneel, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces Navigate outdoor areas—including snowy, icy, or uneven terrain—safely during winter months Lift, carry, push, or pull tools, supplies, and equipment up to 50 lbs. as part of routine maintenance tasks Maneuver heavier items with the use of carts, dollies, or team‑lift procedures in accordance with safety policies Complete job functions outdoors with cold weather, snow and ice Indoor mechanical rooms with heat, noise, or limited ventilation Occasional rooftop or exterior building work Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required Use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment requiring fine motor skills and controlled movements Perform tasks requiring grip strength, steady hand coordination, and precise adjustments (e.g., electrical work, plumbing repairs, HVAC components). Visual capacity sufficient to inspect equipment, read gauges, and identify maintenance issues Auditory ability to hear alarms, equipment sounds, and safety alerts Ability to communicate clearly with team members and guests in potentially noisy environments Respond to winter‑related maintenance needs such as snow removal, de‑icing walkways, and monitoring building systems affected by low temperatures Wear winter gear and operate snow‑related equipment (e.g., snow blowers, shovels) when needed Maintain safe working practices in slippery or reduced‑visibility conditions

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in hospitality or resort environments
  • Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Proven ability to supervise while remaining highly hands-on
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong problem-solving skills and guest-first mindset
  • Ability to work independently in an active outdoor environment
