SUMMARY Plan, coordinate, and direct the activities in maintenance, alteration and repair of plant systems (utilities), knowledgeable in Hand and Power tools, buildings, structures and facilities. Manage capital budget projects, process manufacturing improvements, and departmental budget/spending for both CA facilities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Direct preparation of specifications, layouts, drawings, cost estimates, etc. as it relates to facilities, tooling and equipment). Timely installations/modifications are necessary to minimize costly downtime and to maintain production schedules all CA facilities. Plan and organize to support direct Predictive Maintenance Programs on all equipment to increase equipment uptime and reliability for manufacturing and facilities. Plan, organize and keep customers informed of improvement activities. Plan, organize and direct the activities of the Facilities, MRO Administrator to maintain the facilities and maintain critical parts min/max inventories. Research, plan, and prepare proposals for approval of Capital equipment, cost reduction, energy savings, expansion construction, major maintenance projects, and service contracts. Work with Environmental group to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local environmental standards. Work with Engineering and Quality to introduce and validate new processes or equipment. Initiate and develop cost reduction projects / initiatives. Plan and manage facility central services such as, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, compressors, dust collectors, electrical substations, building’s needs, etc. Other duties as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises direct reports 1 to 5, as well as contractors Evaluates performance, provides feedback, and completes annual performance reviews. Work with manufactures, vendors and contractors QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience with sulfuric acid, lead and lead oxides in production / processes desired. Related on-call responsibilities 24 / 7 for the operation. Knowledge of CMMS Software. Proficient in Microsoft applications. Proficient on AutoCAD Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Experience in process systems as well as strong project management and engineering skills.
  • Familiar with preventative maintenance systems, manufacturing and high-performance maintenance groups.
  • Experience with purchasing for maintenance and facilities, contracts and negotiations.
  • Related on-call responsibilities 24 / 7 for the operation.
  • Knowledge of CMMS Software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Proficient on AutoCAD
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • College graduate desirable will consider experience and/or combination of college and experience.
  • 7 to 10 years’ experience working in an industrial / manufacturing maintenance field.
  • 5 + years of facility maintenance experience.
  • At least 4 years in an active supervisory position.
  • Proficient in English, bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable.
  • Excellent general math skills.
  • College level algebra and related math disciplines used in engineering.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and current liability insurance.
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
  • Must be able to drive to different Company locations.
  • Must be able to tolerate high temperature and high humidity conditions on the factory floor.
  • Tolerable to heights and narrow spaces.
  • Must be able to use personal protective equipment such as respirators, gloves, acid resistant protective clothing, steel toe shoes when deemed necessary.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
