About The Position

QualTex Laboratories is an FDA-registered and CLIA-certified organization that provides state-of-the-art, high volume capacity donor screening and biological testing services. It is one of the largest independent, nonprofit testing laboratories in the United States and has locations in San Antonio and Atlanta. The Supervisor of Laboratory Services is responsible for supervising all operational aspects of the department, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing leadership in technical activities. The role requires maintaining knowledge of current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and excellent communication with all personnel. The incumbent must also commit to the core values of BioBridge Global and provide world-class customer service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a relevant field.
  • Four years of laboratory experience; two years if holding a Master's Degree.
  • Prefer supervisory experience.
  • Valid Texas Operator's Driver's License.
  • Certified Medical Technologist (MT)(CLS)/MLT or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of regulatory/quality compliance including FDA, EU, ISO, GHM, cGMP, OSHA.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the overall activities of the department.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, and all company policies.
  • Competently perform all assigned departmental duties, including Pre-Analytical tasks and complex testing.
  • Evaluate results and equipment performance accurately and timely.
  • Assure that departmental supplies are maintained within established inventory levels.
  • Perform routine data entry, analysis, and prepare reports measuring laboratory performance.
  • Monitor staff performance and assign workflow schedules.
  • Train and/or mentor new employees.
  • Interview and make recommendations regarding hiring, terminating, promoting, and evaluating departmental personnel.
  • Lead team-oriented work projects for validations, process improvements, and SOPs.
  • Foster an atmosphere of open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in continuing education and attend meetings as required.
  • Assist with preparing and monitoring the department budget.
