About The Position

The Supervisor of Lab Client Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Client Services department, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and providing guidance and support to staff. This role serves as a key communication link between the department and management, while also being a technical resource for laboratory processes and staff training. The supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of laboratory results and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Requirements

  • Medical Technologist (MT) certification or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certification issued by ASCP.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or equivalent knowledge.
  • Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical laboratory testing and providing laboratory services, with experience as a lead or senior level staff.
  • Leadership experience in coordinating staff, scheduling, and workflow.
  • Familiarity with supply ordering and inventory practices.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task on many projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Technical knowledge of laboratory areas and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Client Services department.
  • Provides work direction, expertise, and guidance to the staff.
  • Serves as the primary communication link between the department and the manager.
  • Ensures quality, regulatory, accreditation, compliance, and competency standards are met.
  • Coordinates orientation, training, and competency testing of staff and/or students.
  • Serves as a technical resource for staff and Pathologists regarding laboratory system issues.
  • Evaluates technical results for testing and validation of lab to client electronic medical record systems.
  • Assists the manager in the development, implementation, and improvement of department policies and procedures.
  • Complies with the Aurora Consolidated Labs (ACL) Quality Plan by implementing and monitoring quality indicators.
  • Reviews laboratory results for quality, accuracy, and validity.
  • Documents and implements corrective action as appropriate.
  • Establishes, maintains, and reviews the preventive maintenance of all Call Center equipment.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff, including coaching and performance reviews.
  • Recommends hiring, compensation changes, promotions, and terminations.
