About The Position

The Kitchen Steward Supervisor maintains control of sanitation and general maintenance in the kitchens / kitchen areas and for all equipment and dishwashing machinery, setting up equipment for special events and maintaining china, glass and silver inventory.

Requirements

  • Maintaining strict confidentiality regarding food and beverage operations.
  • Oral and written communication skills done in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of chemical usage, operating a dishwasher, and proper usage of a trash compactor.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure situations in an interruptive environment.
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, at least 1 year of experience in a high volume kitchen area is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate and applicable icensing.

Responsibilities

  • Must inspect the kitchens, workrooms, food and beverage storage areas and equipment for cleanliness and general order.
  • Responsible for scheduling the cleaning of all Food & Beverage areas, equipment, and for organizing inventory.
  • Responsible for ensuring the staff is disposing of trash, grease, chemicals and food according to health department standards.
  • Delegates duties and assigns responsibilities to staff.
  • Completes and processes performance reviews.
  • Assist in development of Team Members, and the employment process to include conducting interviews, and participating in the selection, hiring, coaching, retention and termination process.
  • Responsible for directing the efficient and effective cleaning of all areas, inclusive of walls and floors.
  • Responsible for assembling equipment for special events including china, glass, silver, serving utensils, chafing dishes, tables and chairs.
  • Responsible for performing a quarterly inventory of all china, glass and silver.
  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
