Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
• One to two years of related experience in a human services field.
• Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Worker Associate (or the ability to be licensed) through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners.
• Previous experience with supervision and management preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Willingness to submit to record checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, distributing drugs or sex crimes.
• Requires a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one with approved driver status.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and oversight to Family Development Specialists.
• Supervise and develop staff, coordinating staff tasks.
• Handle emergencies and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Review and edit home studies to ensure professionalism in writing and compliance with all requirements.
• Develop staff skills as needed.
• Play a key role in staff training and support, family support, and ensuring a high standard of service.
