About The Position

The IRA Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operations within the distribution center to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment along with inventory compliance requirements. The role involves leading and directing at least two or more full-time employees or their equivalent, implementing operational procedures, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The IRA Supervisor must possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related background. Candidates for this position will have 3-5 years of inventory control or general warehouse supervisory experience.
  • Time management, ability to multi-task, organizational skills, ability to influence others and motivate a team.
  • Ability to analyze reports and draw conclusions/make recommendations.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly in excel required.
  • Must be comfortable speaking in a team setting and individual situations, as well with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to become certified on forklift equipment, depending on job assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous warehouse management experience, including SAP and Oracle knowledge desired.
  • Presentation skills a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
  • Supervise and lead a team of IRA associates, which may be comprised of Specialists, Coordinators, Clerks and Cycle Counters.
  • Interview and participate in the selection of new hires.
  • Train associates in a variety of tasks or roles
  • Regularly coach associates and handle disciplinary issues when needed.
  • Oversee employee complaints and grievances, in partnership with leadership and Human Resources.
  • Responsible for enforcing company policies and procedures while providing employees with positive employment experience.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Complete ADP payroll time collection and process a variety of people changes when needed.
  • Create a culture that fosters motivation, participation, and opportunities for associates to perform their roles in a safe and productive environment.
  • Must be willing to work hours in line with business needs (early start, mid shifts, etc.)
  • Operational Leadership:
  • Oversee the cycle counting, transacting and process adherence of materials in assigned the distribution center(s).
  • Ability to observe, document and advise in any area of the distribution center or production areas.
  • Implement and enforce operational procedures to optimize workflow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cycle counting, search and rescue and management operational requests.
  • Supervise shift responsibilities and ensure smooth transition between shifts as required. Communicates with leadership in all areas, as required, to ensure business needs are fulfilled.
  • Coordinates with local systems support for continuous improvement activities, as well as systems roll-outs, testing and development.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Participate in perpetual cycle counting throughout the facility and all designated off-site storage facilities
  • Schedule and coordinate execution of cycle count process to ensure all inventory is counted at regular intervals.
  • Track and manage SOX compliance requirements at the facility
  • Participate in all on-site and fact-finding activities related to our inventory audits
  • Help identify inventory control gaps and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels in both the WMS and ERP.
  • Mandates that all department procedures (SOPs) are documented and utilized.
  • Participates in the creation of any SOPs that do not exist within the department
  • Anticipates seasonal needs and ensures team is properly prepared.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.
  • Partner appropriately with specialty teams.
  • Must be willing to use and implement new technologies as rolled out by the enterprise.
  • Safety, Quality Assurance, and Compliance:
  • Provide for the safety and security of associates and property.
  • Coordinate with the QA team to ensure that all ‘held’ materials are inspected and approved or properly tagged and identified as being on hold.
  • Maintain the highest level of quality for our customers.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure associates adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Ensures SQF guidelines and policies are enforced.
  • Timely report of spills, incidents, and accidents; ensuring injured associates cared for, spills immediately cleaned up, safety incidents loaded into the site Teams safety folder and appropriate follow-ups completed for associate injury and restrictions when warranted.
  • Follows the safety matrix, participates in safety reviews, and issues appropriate corrective measures, when warranted.
  • Conduct regular safety training for warehouse staff.
  • Performance Metrics:
  • Maintain production records for use in supervision or control.
  • Apportion the work among the associates.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor associate performance and create and deliver PDRs annually.
  • Ensures Specialists are properly updated and start up meetings and preliminary work is ready for daily production outcomes.
  • Develop action plans to address areas of improvement.
  • Reviews workload requirements and shift needs, ensuring adequate coverage and within budgeted guidelines.
  • Responsible for overall productivity and ensuring cost controls are met or exceeded.
  • Plan for seasonal needs and preparing accordingly.
  • Communication:
  • Maintain clear and effective communication within team and with other Departments.
  • Address and resolve issues of concerns raised by associates or other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with peer Supervisors to promote cross-departmental cooperation and ensure clear communication and accountabilities.
  • Work with others to implement strategic initiatives.
