About The Position

The Supervisor of Inventory Management at Cardinal Health is responsible for overseeing materials handling and product distribution within a distribution or manufacturing environment. This role includes managing inventory, demand planning, and supply chain processes to optimize costs while ensuring service requirements are met. The position will initially operate in a hybrid model until the new Consumer Health Logistics Center opens, after which it will be on-site, focusing on the efficient delivery of consumer health products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of related work experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of corporate inventory management and 4-8 years of operations experience preferred.
  • Established relationships with corporate functions such as purchasing, sourcing, category management preferred.
  • Understanding of full purchase order lifecycle from initial placement to full receipt including proper triage of exceptions.
  • Track record of effective project/initiative management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Entrepreneurial approach to all things and a refusal to accept the status quo.
  • Ability to hire a team and hold individuals accountable for results.
  • Ability to learn and execute activities within warehouse and inventory management systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and the connection to product flow.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, select, train, manage and evaluate a team of employees including senior analysts, analysts, and coordinators.
  • Collaborate closely with all Inventory Management teams, Sourcing, Purchasing, and Operations teams as well as management manufacturers to align product supply with customer demand.
  • Contribute to the design of new facility functions and processes.
  • Foster a culture of curiosity, experimentation, personal growth, and success for all team members.
  • Develop a robust succession model for self and team members to ensure a deep talent pool.
  • Identify current customer or supplier issues and effectively lead the coordination and resolution of those issues.
  • Promote Operational Excellence and the continuous pursuit of waste reduction.
  • Develop and manage key performance metrics; gather and evaluate data to analyze variances.
  • Resolve issues escalated by manufacturers and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of business support, technical or production staff in an assigned area.
  • Set priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinate work activities with other supervisors.
  • Apply expertise to solve standard and non-standard problems within own area.
  • Make decisions by carefully weighing pros and cons and acting for the benefit of the work team; coach/support subordinates in their decision-making efforts.
  • Build confidence and respect of others through a positive and energizing style.
  • Assist work team in the achievement of goals/commitments; achieve own goals/commitments regardless of obstacles.
  • Leverage FDC knowledge to develop alternative solutions and share key learnings with others.
  • Participate in and coordinate ongoing training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
