About The Position

The Supervisor Inflight Crew Scheduling oversees the daily operation of Inflight Schedulers at Alaska Airlines (AS) and Hawaiian Airlines (HA). As a people leader, the Supervisor Inflight Crew Scheduling leads and establishes priorities for the team to schedule and meet performance objectives including safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 3 years of airline, crew scheduling experience or related area.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability and willingness to accept shift work (e.g., weekends, holidays, after hours, on-call, etc.) and to work a flexible schedule to include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates strong critical decision making and situational judgment skills.
  • Ability to interact with business leaders, provide insights and recommendations, and collaborate to solve complex operational challenges.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Minimum age of 18.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Inflight Crew Schedulers to meet performance objectives: on-time performance, reserve utilization, and premium usage by monitoring daily performance, guiding work priorities, and providing real-time direction within established guidelines.
  • Investigate and report on Inflight Crew delays, and irregular flight activity; determine solutions for how to avoid such Inflight Crew delays in the future and implement actions within established procedures to mitigate future occurrences.
  • Supervise the execution of, and ongoing adherence to FAR, CBA and company policies for ensuring Flight Attendants are scheduled legally.
  • Liaise between labor unions; IAM & AFA to resolve contractual work agreements efficiently to mitigate potential grievances. Supports resolution of contractual issues by following established processes and engaging internal Labor Relations partners; communicates with IAM & AFA per guidance to mitigate potential grievances.
  • Develop Crew Schedulers through effective performance management, connecting people to projects, and delivering ongoing feedback focusing on coaching in the following areas: attendance, required training, scheduling compliance, delays, and professionalism.
  • Manage department’s administrative functions, including daily schedule, scheduler sick leave, time off, and supply ordering.
  • Answer escalated calls from Flight Attendants pertaining to contractual scheduling needs; handle all inquiries and solve problems.
  • Cross departmental collaboration to promote positive work culture and cultivate a deeper understanding of business acumen.
  • Influence the culture of a team through action, presence and reinforcement of behaviors.
