About The Position

Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is one of the largest employers in the region, with a mission to empower those with disadvantages and disabilities to improve their quality of life. We employ over 600 associates just in our retail stores alone and offer over 40 programs and services to the community ranging from job readiness programs to assistive technology services. We are looking for driven, enthusiastic people to join our team in supervising store operations such as loading and unloading of trailers, processing of textiles, wares processing, quality control, rotation, sales, and operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Knowledge and experience in cash register procedures, stock control, banking procedures, merchandising, and display.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees in cashiering, banking, stock, and display.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

Responsibilities

  • Assist store manager with managing budgeted sales and expense to revenue (E/R).
  • Operate cash register accurately and efficiently, including proper handling of cash, checks, correct change, receipts, returns, voids, discounts, credit cards, etc.
  • Perform banking procedures, including reconciliation of Daily Business Statements and deposit slips.
  • Train and supervise store employees in retail procedures.
  • Display and model excellent customer service.
  • Ensure store is maintained in accordance with company policies on housekeeping, safety, and security.
  • Perform stocking, display, and inventory duties.
  • Perform merchandise ordering as assigned, including processing requests to transportation.
  • Work a flexible schedule to comply with the needs of the store.
  • Follow the dress code as set by Goodwill and set a professional example for employees.

  • Provide own transportation and adequate liability insurance.
  • Maintain the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
