About The Position

The Production Supervisor at Novolex in Frankfort, IL is responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize costs while maintaining quality. This role typically supervises over 50 employees and involves coordinating with the Scheduler to ensure daily production requirements are met. The supervisor will carry out various supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Additionally, the supervisor ensures that all production data is gathered and reported correctly on a daily basis, supports and improves upon quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals, and ensures that safety programs are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree preferred (business, engineering).
• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Good verbal & interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in group situations.
• Ability to deal effectively with conflict in a mature & consistent manner.
• Good computer skills.
• SAP experience preferred.
