The IHC Supervisor is responsible for supervising all assigned staff in regards to the technical and administrative issues related to the IHC Laboratory. Oversee the daily workflow for multiple shifts. Actively assess work processes and make recommendations for quality and efficiency improvements. Have a working knowledge to embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, coverslipping, Immunohistochemistry, special stains, antibody optimization and validation procedures, and QA/QC procedures, in order to support the department. Ability to relate professionally with people, analytical abilities, compose letters/memorandums, coordinate events, motivate others, research information, time management, train employees. LOCATION: 760 Westchester Ave, Rye Brook, NY 10573 HOURS: FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible HOURLY RATE: $100,000k-$140,000k In this role you will: Manage the day-to-day operations of the department. This includes: Staff hires, scheduling, development, training and annual appraisals. Develop, review and update all Standard Operation Procedures Manuals. Statistical compilation and analysis. Responsible for all histology laboratory inspection compliance and regulations. Implement, enforce and monitor all QC, QA, service, safety and compliance indicators and programs. Monitor dept. budget. Participation in inventory control Responsible for keeping the processing laboratory organized and neat. Troubleshoot equipment and computer related problems Validation of methodology and instrumentation. All you need is: 3 years of histology IHC experience, preferably in a leadership role. Must meet all state and local licensing requirements where the laboratory is located (NY state) and must meet all College of American Pathologists (CAP) and CLIA requirements. (HT)ASCP or similar nationally recognized certification preferred. Working knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing laboratories. Understanding and assistance in quality control / quality improvement programs, staining QC, programs / reports. Working knowledge and understanding of computers. Familiarity of State and Federal regulations governing laboratories. Lab Supervisory experience Good technical skills and working knowledge of computers and budget. Independent judgment required to meet common goal. Cooperative working relationships with peers and management. Independent judgment required to meet common goal.
