Directs institutional housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of establishment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Guides housekeeping activities of all household staff; empowers leadership through delegation, communication, and education. Serves as positive role model for the household staff members. Contributes to housekeeping educational development of household staff through in-service sessions, resources, and one-to-one instruction to assure staff competency. Establishes standards and procedures in compliance with all federal and state regulations for cleanliness and sanitation. Coordinates and assists with room changes and the arrangement of furniture within the residents’ rooms. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines household staff members as appropriate with the household coordinator: Inspects and evaluates to ensure housekeeping cleaning standards are being met in accordance with policies and procedures. Submits to administrator/maintenance supervisor recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, relocation of equipment, and reallocation of space. Inventories housekeeping supplies and equipment to ensure consistent availability. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
