The supervisor will be responsible for 24-hour management of the assigned geographic division of transport. This includes performance management of their assigned direct reports and oversight of their area of specialty, which may include vehicles, training, operations, recruitment and retention, or specialty transport. The supervisor will also manage the process for purchase, preventive maintenance, and care of ambulances, wheelchair vehicles, and ambulatory vehicles. They will be accountable for controlling the departmental budget and are expected to project a professional and personable image to patients, family members, staff, and other customers. The role requires interaction and communication of information and ideas to all levels of personnel within the organization, ensuring regulatory and code compliance (JCAHO, OSHA, EPA, Radio Licensing, etc.). Additionally, the supervisor must recognize, develop, and implement solutions to transportation needs within the facility and appropriately intervene in conflicts with personnel, patients, and other customers. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
