Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, or a related field; OR a Journeyman Electrician or Instrument Technician certification with equivalent technical and supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of hands-on E/I maintenance experience in a coal-fired, gas, or large-scale heavy industrial power generation environment.
  • In lieu of associate’s degree, seven (7) years of power plant experience including at least two (3) years of maintenance and/or operations leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the maintenance and calibration of pneumatic, electronic, and smart field instruments.
  • Advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting complex electrical schematics, P&IDs, control logic diagrams, and loop drawings.
  • Certified knowledge of, and strict adherence to, NFPA 70E (Arc Flash Safety).
  • Strong working knowledge of NERC/FERC compliance requirements, particularly as they relate to protective relays and generator systems.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain at least one major industrial DCS platform (e.g., Emerson Ovation, Netmation, or similar).
  • Ability to work in a demanding industrial environment, including extreme weather conditions, elevated noise, and machinery.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE and be able to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Must be available for on-call duties and extended hours during plant emergencies and planned outages.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced class combustion turbines and combined cycle power plants, preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in power plant maintenance and/or operations, preferred.
