About The Position

As a Supervisor Gas Distribution Engineering you’ll lead a team that engineers and delivers safe, compliant, and on‑time projects for high‑pressure (HP) natural gas pipelines (typically 125 psig and above)—including mainlines, facilities (gate stations, regulator stations, HP meter sets), and corrosion control. In this role, you’ll set priorities, assign work, coach the team, and ensure quality across design, construction, and start-up.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of directly related engineering/project experience in natural gas or closely related industries.
  • US Professional Engineering designation (PE license) is a requirement.
  • Solid knowledge of company operations and the natural gas industry, with familiarity with codes/standards (e.g., FERC, DOT/PHMSA, API, ASME ) or Canadian equivalents.
  • Proven ability to define problems, make decisions, negotiate agreements , and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, clear written and verbal communication.
  • Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering program based on the year that the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program and a postgraduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year degree in Physics, Chemistry or Math and a post-graduate engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same engineering discipline is ABET accredited based on the year the engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license, PE.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and allocate engineering resources for the design and construction of gas facilities and integrity assessments; ensure safety, quality, schedule, and code compliance.
  • Coordinate day activities for internal teams and contractors; track progress and remove roadblocks to deliver on‑time, compliant facilities .
  • Oversee design, construction, and facility startup; guide the team in estimating costs and managing the design, installation, and documentation of gas mains, meters, regulator stations, pipeline interconnects, odorization stations, and cathodic protection facilities.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and project managers; foster continuous improvement and strong relationships with internal partners and external agencies.
  • Uphold company requirements and pipeline safety laws across all project phases, lead process improvements and partner engagement.
  • Manage budgets, project prioritization, standard practices, and processes for the HP Engineering group; perform other duties as assigned.
