Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • 1 or more years of employment experience in a related position.
  • Understanding of all hotel front office procedures.
  • High school graduate level mathematical aptitude and knowledge of cash handling procedures.
  • Experience in dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of company/hotel policies and procedures.
  • Supervision/management skills.
  • Ability to communicate information and hotel services to management and guests.
  • Proficiency in operating computers, calculators, and telephone keyboards.

Nice To Haves

  • Second language proficiency may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the operations of the front desk to ensure optimal service and hospitality for guests.
  • Train and direct the work of front desk team members, resolving issues and coaching for quality operations.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues efficiently to maintain high customer satisfaction.
  • Complete check-in procedures for arriving guests and facilitate guest departures.
  • Calculate and post guest accounts and other forms of credit accurately using established cash handling methods.
  • Answer inquiries from potential guests and accept hotel reservations courteously and accurately.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Maintain good customer relations by staying informed about in-house and area functions.
  • Operate PBX equipment and assist with outgoing calls and scheduling wake-up calls.
  • Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain responsibility for personal bank as per hotel policy.
  • Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.
