About The Position

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in various construction projects.

Requirements

• Perform a variety of duties which may often change; work within standards of accuracy.
• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods; use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
• Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects.
• Carry tools and equipment; stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• See and hear well (naturally or with correction).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, documents, instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Routine report writing.
• Effective communication skills vital.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma preferred.
• Two years related supervisory experience.
• CPR, First Aid and Confined Space Entry certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
• Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems.
• Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.
• Transmit and explain work orders to laborers.
• Check specifications of materials loaded or unloaded against information contained in work orders.
• Inform designated employees or departments of items loaded or problems encountered.
• Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
• Perform the same work duties as those supervised or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance.
• Prepare and maintain work records and reports of information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, or inspection results.
