Summary Oversees day-to-day functionality and operations of the Food and Nutrition Department. Assists with employee recruitment, scheduling, screening, and training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5 years experience in food service.
  • Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates daily functioning of all areas including any Kiosks that maybe onsite at other hospital locations to ensure availability and freshness of product as well as compliance to all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors all required quality control measures (refrigeration/freezer/internal cooking temp logs, sanitizer logs, proper labeling and dating compliance, recipe compliance, portion controls, food safety standards, etc.), compliance and documentation on a daily basis.
  • Verifies compliance during daily walk through.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times per the Corporate Compliance and HIPPA policies.
  • Monitors unit floor stock program to ensure compliance to nursing unit needs and tracks required documentation of such to ensure proper cost reporting.
  • Organizes, monitors, and maintains department cleaning program (floors, refrigeration/freezer units, storage areas, equipment, and shelving).
  • Prepares employee schedules, monitors employee attendance in the Time Tracking program, and tracks PTO.
  • Collaborates with Executive Chef regarding all upcoming and current special functions.
