About The Position

The Supervisor, MIP Fleet Sales & Strategy is a people and performance leader responsible for translating strategic plans into actionable objectives that drive key performance indicators across assigned regions. This role directly supervises Fleet/MIP Sales Specialists, Sr. Leads and Leads, ensures consistent execution of the Managed Inventory Program (MIP), and maintains executive-level relationships with Customer Regional Managers and Territory Managers. In addition to customer-facing sales and support, this position is accountable for team performance, coaching, workforce planning, and operational excellence. The Supervisor is responsible for maximizing share of wallet, improving customer satisfaction, and developing a high-performing team aligned with company goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Or an additional 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams directly or through influence.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or management experience including coaching and performance management.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; occasional weekends may be required.
  • Up to 50% travel to customer sites.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to organize, multi-task, and lead remote or multi-location teams.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical automotive parts and service information.
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, ERP, and CRM systems.
  • High analytical capability and data-driven decision making.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and achieve metrics.
  • High integrity and professional accountability.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years’ experience managing complex or multi-site customers.
  • Prior experience as a Lead MIP or Fleet Sales Specialist.
  • Automotive or fleet parts industry experience.
  • Experience in inventory control and forecasting processes.
  • Exposure to sales share goals and profitability management.
  • Advanced Excel and reporting/BI tool knowledge.
  • Experience managing remote or field-based teams.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop Fleet/MIP Sales Specialists and Leads.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, goal setting, and continuous feedback sessions.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and termination decisions in partnership with HR.
  • Manage workload distribution, fleet segment assignments, and coverage planning.
  • Identify skill gaps and implement training and development plans.
  • Lead team meetings, performance reviews, and regional strategy sessions.
  • Drive accountability for KPIs, activity metrics, and professional conduct.
  • Resolve employee conflicts and performance concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support succession planning and mentor emerging leaders.
  • Approve time off, travel plans, and expense reports.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and ethical work environment aligned with company values.
  • Create structure for disseminating and communicating information to Leads and account Fleet Specialists.
  • Assist in department training and cross-functional exposure initiatives.
  • Develop and champion new processes that improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate and approve travel schedules to optimize coverage and cost control.
  • Manage key performance indicators across regions including sales forecasting, inventory turns, obsolescence, and profitability.
  • Maintain relationships with Customer Regional Managers and Territory Managers.
  • Support onboarding and system/product training for new team members.
  • Analyze sales sheets, market share, and performance trends to guide strategy.
  • Increase share of wallet by reducing competitor or local purchases and introducing new products.
  • Reduce excess and obsolete inventory at customer locations.
  • Increase customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Execute Support on sales calls by understanding customer needs and identifying opportunities.
  • Work with Leads and Fleet Specialists to forecast Wheeler opportunities for proper stocking levels at our warehouse.
  • Present and set up training when necessary to support sales visits and customer education.
  • Manage customer support activities and issue resolution.
  • Update Managed Inventory Program system data.
  • Utilize parts research tools and resources to solve problems.
  • Evaluate and escalate part quality concerns.
  • Use usage reports and year-to-date sales analysis to recommend additions or deletions to inventory programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
