About The Position

The Supervisor role is responsible for overseeing the Fixed Assets Department. This position will manage and maintain the company’s Fixed Assets Subledger and General Ledger, while leading, developing, and supporting a team of three Staff Accountants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP as it relates to Fixed Assets and capital expenditures
  • Minimum of two years’ experience leading a team
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with fully integrated accounting software, preferably SAP – Fixed Assets
  • Advanced proficiency with M365 tools, advanced excel skills preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and reviewing all account analyses related to Fixed Assets
  • Reviewing capital expenditure submissions and tracking budgeted vs. actual expenditures for appropriate accounting treatment
  • Overseeing the capitalization process of Fixed Assets and the process for asset sales and retirements
  • Collaborating with Field Operations to ensure proper accounting treatment of operating expenses and capital expenditures
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly Fixed Asset analyses to support internal and external reporting
  • Preparing budgets and forecasts for capital expenditures
  • Supporting the semi-annual inventory process
  • Managing the tank refurbishment and exchange process
  • Overseeing spend tracking for Software as a Service (SaaS) projects
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries related to Fixed Assets
  • Collaborating with Tank Assets, Fleet, and Real Estate departments
  • Leading automation and special projects as they arise
