About The Position

The Supervisor, Field Operations coordinates and supervises US Energy Minerals (Wood Pellet Fuel and Coal samples) where inspection of client samples coming off of vessels is the main service we offer. Leads the team of Field Services Technicians: schedules daily work, trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work. Works alongside shift technicians to complete work for shift. Serves as a first and primary line of contact with the customers in the field and the Branch Managers and Operations Managers. Addresses customers’ complaints and resolves issues. Provides technical advice and support to the Field Technicians. Assists staff to carry out and complete tasks according to established work procedures. Trains, motivates, provides guidance and monitors daily work of the team. Schedules personnel as needed to ensure that all samples are properly sampled, received, identified, prepared, and analyzed in a timely manner, according to established work procedures. Conducts regular employees’ meetings to inform staff on policies, procedures and performance issues, and share knowledge for development and improvement. Works in partnership with other Technicians to solve client problems to ensure quality and customer satisfaction standards are met. Ensures each Field Technician has sufficient information, resources and materials to do their job safely. May also have Preparation or Laboratory responsibilities, as required by business needs. Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. Supervises a group of Field Services Technicians Makes day-to-day decisions within group Has some authority for personnel actions (scheduling work hours, training, and coaching)

Requirements

  • 3+ years working in Industrial or Laboratory or Field settings
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, or Related field
  • 5+ years working in industrial or Laboratory or Field setting with experience following strict safety standards, including 1+ years of supervisory experience
