The Supervisor, Field Operations MIN coordinates and supervises production, distribution and marketing operations in the US Minerals Field Operations location. Leads the team of Technicians, schedules daily work to ensure work is performed to the standard operation procedures (SOP) and quality requirements, approves time in Kronos, ensures results are properly documented and communicated to clients. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies, internal standards and protocols. Performs Senior Field Operation Technician duties.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • 3+ years working in Industrial or Laboratory or Field settings
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid and Current Driver’s license may be required if the role requires driving a company vehicle
  • May be required to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)
  • May be required to obtain a 24-hour surface MSHA certificate as job demands

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Related field
  • 5+ years working in industrial or Laboratory or Field setting with experience following strict safety standards, including 1+ years of supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Leads the team of Field Services Technicians: schedules daily work, trains employees; planes, assigns, and directs work, approves time in MyTime.
  • Serves as a first and primary line of contact with the customers in the field and the Branch Managers and Operations Managers.
  • Addresses customers’ complaints and resolves issues.
  • Provides technical advice and support to the Field Technicians.
  • Assists staff to carry out and complete tasks according to established work procedures.
  • Trains, motivates, provides guidance and monitors daily work of the team.
  • Schedules personnel as needed to ensure that all samples are properly sampled, received, identified, prepared, and analyzed in a timely manner, according to established work procedures.
  • Ensures accurate time reporting for all direct reports in Kronos.
  • Conducts regular employees’ meetings to inform staff on policies, procedures and performance issues, share knowledge for development and improvement.
  • Works in partnership with other Technicians to solve client problems to ensure quality and customer satisfaction standards are met.
  • Ensures each Field Technician has sufficient information, resources and materials to do their job safely.
  • Ensures daily housekeeping activities are performed on a daily basis, and areas are clean.
  • Accountable for routine and non-routine equipment maintenance.
  • Ensures all subordinate employees use equipment according to Safety policies and standards.
  • Provides feedback to superiors or staff to improve service delivery.
  • Makes recommendations on work practices and continuous improvement.
  • Performs work of Senior Field Operations Technician.
  • May also have Preparation or Laboratory responsibilities, as required by business needs.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supervises a group of Field Services Technicians
  • Makes day-to-day decisions within group
  • Has some authority for personnel actions (scheduling work hours, training, and coaching)
