About The Position

This is a fully remote position but may be required to occasionally go on-site with staff. This position may require traveling for meetings with Embassies, primarily to Washington, D.C. This role will primarily support Embassy Revenue Cycle business, both front end working with patients, registration, financial and other responsibilities, along with back-end billing, with the expectation that the role and duties will expand into other specialty business areas. The individual will be expected to be one of main contacts for Embassy relationships. The Supervisor of Executive Development & International Finance directs and manages the EDI Financial Specialist and EDI Billing Representative staff across multiple sites in Minnesota, Florida, and Arizona in coordinating, facilitating, and overseeing the patient experience, performing related administrative tasks for the Executive, Development, and international patient population. Supervises and directs highest level of patient service, working closely with administration and leaders within patient appointment coordinators, allied health staff, and other professionals throughout Mayo Clinic to ensure service excellence for this high-touch patient population. EDI Supervisor is responsible for Optimizing staff productivity and establishing criteria for service expectations. The EDI Supervisor works to implement retention planning and staff development initiatives that align with Executive, Development and International strategic initiatives. This role will participate in the overall management of Revenue Cycle teams through involvement in Enterprise-wide projects, work groups, task forces, councils, and committees, and is responsible for proactively working to minimize front-end related errors and claims denials related to EDI patients. The EDI Supervisor will manage work queues and support necessary patient escalations for EDI patients as it relates to Revenue Cycle experience. The EDI Supervisor collaborates with Revenue Cycle leadership as needed to create and implement process improvement initiatives. The EDI Supervisor is responsible for the performance of the EDI team and holds each staff member accountable for the performance of assigned day-to-day activities, to include the effective use of equipment and materials within departmental budget and quality standards. Monitors staff productivity levels, quality of output, and resolves workplace-related issues in a timely manner to promote a culture of accountability driving toward continuous performance improvement. Develops and/or refines operational procedures and guidelines to drive team performance towards established organizational operational and financial targets. The position requires Patient Access technical expertise within Epic, as well as operational expertise in hospital and medical group revenue cycle processes. Serves as a liaison to other revenue cycle and clinical practice teams within Mayo Clinic as well as external constituents/stakeholders. Responsible for the identification and planning of tactical and strategic improvement initiatives including retention to increase both financial and operational performance. Designs and implements performance improvement plan (PIPs) to remediate identified improvement initiatives and align performance with management expectations as necessary. Participates in the overall management of Revenue Cycle teams through involvement in Enterprise-wide projects, work groups, task forces, councils, and committees. Occasional travel required.
