About The Position

Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking an experienced EVS Supervisor to provide hands-on leadership and daily operational oversight of our Environmental Services department. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, providers, and visitors across our medical campus. The EVS Supervisor oversees daily staffing, assignments, training, and quality control while ensuring compliance with hospital, infection prevention, and regulatory standards. This is a working supervisor role that supports day-to-day operations rather than long-term strategic or budget planning. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
Understanding of hospital operations, infection control, and regulatory standards
CHEST (Certified Health Care Environmental Technician) required
Must obtain within six (6) months of hire if not already certified
Current AHA BLS certification for healthcare providers
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, bend, and perform physical tasks associated with EVS operations
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with or without assistance

Responsibilities

Provide direct supervision and operational oversight of EVS staff
Develop and manage EVS schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for all assigned hospital and clinic areas
Assign daily work tasks and monitor completion for quality, consistency, and timeliness
Supervise cleaning, sanitation, waste disposal, and infection prevention practices
Collaborate closely with the Infection Preventionist to maintain compliance with applicable standards
Provide onboarding, training, competency validation, and ongoing coaching for EVS staff
Participate in hiring, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action as needed
Maintain readiness for unannounced regulatory and licensing surveys
Oversee EVS supply inventory, ordering, and documentation
Assist with EVS services during high-volume or urgent situations as needed
Ensure accurate timekeeping review and payroll approval in Paycom
