About The Position

Reporting directly to the EVS Director or designee, Supervisor is responsible for directly overseeing the evening/night day-to-day EVS operations and assignments. Routinely reviews and provides training and guidance to staff level positions and ensure that assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained according to hospital policies and standards of quality and safety. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring supplies and equipment are maintained properly and supplies are ordered. Responsible for preparing CAPMAN Data, department schedule, manage vacation requests/call-offs, and assign appropriate staffing to ensure for sufficient coverage, as well as coach staff as directed. Performs hospital rounds and patient interviews along with inspections to ensure staff complete all assignments in a timely and efficient manner. Available for daily huddles and meetings with staff and routinely attends hospital department meetings seeking ways to improve service for all customers. Works in collaboration with the Engineering Department for the input and completion of all maintenance requests and work orders. Works on special projects and committees as assigned by the Director of EVS.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in supervisory position in a hospital or similar institution.
  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional management are helpful.
  • Experience in functional supervision is essential.
  • Floor tech experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
