About The Position

Opened in 2010, Palmdale Regional Medical Center is a 184-bed, acute care hospital located in Palmdale, CA. One of Southern California's newest hospitals and featuring all-private patient rooms, Palmdale Regional provides high-quality, award-winning patient care to residents and visitors of the Antelope Valley and surrounding areas. Palmdale Regional is active in the community and regularly participates with the Antelope Valley Board of Trade/Greater Antelope Valley Economic Alliance (now AV Edge), and other civic and governmental groups. Palmdale Regional believes in 'Community Service Excellence' and supports nonprofit agencies and other healthcare related organizations. Palmdale Regional recently joined the newly created regional brand, Southwest Healthcare. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory position in a hospital or similar institution.
  • Proven supervisory skills.
  • Courses in hospital housekeeping or institutional management are helpful.
  • Experience in functional supervision is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPI is required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the evening/night day-to-day EVS operations and assignments.
  • Review and provide training and guidance to staff level positions.
  • Ensure assigned areas are properly cleaned and maintained according to hospital policies and standards of quality and safety.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment, and order supplies as needed.
  • Prepare CAPMAN Data and department schedule.
  • Manage vacation requests and call-offs, and assign appropriate staffing.
  • Perform hospital rounds and patient interviews along with inspections.
  • Attend daily huddles and meetings with staff.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Department for maintenance requests and work orders.
  • Work on special projects and committees as assigned by the Director of EVS.
